What if we fail?

Published over 1 year ago • 2 min read

Hi Reader,

Reminder: your investment in us before the end of this year, will set Valeo Research Institute up for a success next year.

I’ve spoken with a lot of different people since accepting this role who will be impacted if the Research Institute successfully stewards what is being entrusted to us:

  • The veteran membercare director who is worried about how their community is actually doing and what they are actually needing but isn’t sure how to find out.
  • The trainer who has a great solution to a perpetual and perplexing problem in missions and needs to bridge the divide from what he has to those who need to receive it.
  • The global worker in Christ who has faithfully served in India for a decade and senses herself being called into member-care but isn’t sure how best to get equipped.
  • The countless global workers in Christ I’ve listened to and wept with, whose souls have been wounded in the good fight. We long to offer them more than sympathy. We long to offer them our very best evidence-based practices, developed from sound knowledge and delivered preemptively.

VALEO means: “worthy”, “well”, and “effective”. If our Research Institute is successful, we’ll play our part in a movement of global workers in Christ growing in their sense of worthiness, in their well-being in every domain of life, and their effectiveness for the Gospel.

I imagine how these global workers in Christ will shine the light of Christ in the world:

  • I think of the impact they can have on the next generation (like my young son) who have only known this globally-connected world. Today we can cross cultures without ever crossing the street. To be an ordinary Christian now is to be an every day missionary.
  • His generation will carry the Great Commission forward or will forfeit it. They need to see models they can emulate.

You probably share a few of my reasons (and have some of your own) for why it’s important that the Research Institute be set up to succeed next year. Therefore, I invite you to join us in praying for God’s protection and provision for this new initiative and offering your year-end gift. Will you take one of these remaining spots?
